Ridwell Recycling Program

In the world today, plastic pollution is a massive environmental threat. Not only this, but in the US 79 percent of plastics that are supposed to be recycled are just thrown in the landfills after being collected for recycling! Ridwell is a monthly subscription program that collects plastics–and materials that wouldn’t normally be able to be recycled–and guarantees to recycle them!  CHS has partnered with Ridwell for a program where Ridwell will recycle all of our school’s multi-layered plastics from the month of October for free! There will be bags in classrooms where students can put their plastics for recycling, AND if students collect their own multi-layer plastics at home throughout the month of October they can bring them into the school from November 1st-3rd. We want to make sure everything collected can be recycled, so please shake out any crumbs and wash anything that is sticky/greasy with soap/water and add to your collection once dry!

  • More information can be found about which types of plastics can be collected in the Ridwell program here.  For those interested in learning more about Ridwell and how to get many-material recycling for your own home, more information here
  • Sign up for Ridwell between now and 11/17/2023 using https://get.ridwell.com/capital-hs and Ridwell will donate $20 to our school! These funds will be used to continue sustainable projects at CHS.
