CHS Booster Club

The Booster Club is planning a meeting for September 16th at 7pm, following the CHSPO meeting.  All parents are invited to attend.

 

Counseling Center News

The last day for schedule changes is 9/16/24.  Students and guardians must complete a Class Change Form and turn into the Counseling Center.  For any changes after 9/16, see Student Handbook for details.

 

Yearbook Information

All photo deadlines and submission information can be found on the Capital High School website https://capital.osd.wednet.edu/activities/yearbook Senior portraits are due October 31st. This is a hard deadline!! Please email [email protected] with any questions!

September is National Suicide Prevention Month

We can all help prevent suicide. Every year, organizations and individuals across the U.S. and around the world raise awareness of suicide prevention during September, National Suicide Prevention Month.

News from the CCRC

Welcome back all! We have a lot to offer in the College and Career Readiness Center (CCRC). Please encourage your student to visit and ask questions or make an appointment to get more in depth information. The College and Career Readiness Center provides opportunities to meet with representatives regarding Colleges/Universities/Career Spotlights. It also hosts Scholarship, College Application Help and High School and Beyond Plan information.

PSAT Information

Students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Monday, October 20, or Tuesday, October 21, at 9:00 AM in Room D-10 during school hours. The test is approximately 2.5 hours long.

Registration is available at the ASB office for $50. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch can receive a fee waiver.

Don’t miss this chance to practice for the SAT and qualify for scholarships!

News from the CCRC

Senior Families

Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) will be opening on October 1st 2025. If you are interested in applying to college and scholarships-this FREE application is something to consider completing. You can create your FSAID (Create account for Financial aid-You must do this before completing the FAFSA). We will have a FSAID Workshop on October 6th and a  Financial Aid Advising Day on October 16th. St. Martins Financial Aid representatives will be here to assist you in completing your FAFSA. Mark your calendars for the Parent/Guardian and Senior Event that evening starting at 5pm in the CHS Library.

The CCRC has opportunities for student volunteers, if your student is wanting some hours, please have them visit the CCRC today!

SCHOOLINKS

Schoolinks is our COLLEGE Communication and High School and Beyond Platform. If your student has not logged into SchooLinks before, have them connect with Mrs. Smith in the College and Career Readiness Center (CCRC). This Platform is important for ALL students to be connected to, so they can receive their Transcripts, apply to colleges and complete their Washington State Required High School and Beyond Plan.
