Week 9 (Oct. 29 - Nov. 2)

  • Thurs: Start Dialog in a Screenplay Project
    • WEDO
      • Team up in teams of three
      • Fill in 3 person project form
      • Decide
        1. Who is recording and email the audio to the editor
        2. Who is editing and uploading to SoundCloud
        3. Who is talking
        • Recording guidance
          1. Place the phone or other recording device between the two people talking
          2. Discuss a topic that haas some opinion that is interesting to both people
          3. Avoid swearing or other inappropriate not-for-school topics
          4. Record at least 5 minutes of recording
        • Editing with Audacity guidance
          1. Pick the part of the conversation where students are interupting each other; a part that has it's own rhythm
          2. Edit the best part of the conversation to about 1 minute in length
          3. Export as a WAV file
          4. Upload to SoundCloud
          5. Email link to other team members
    • YOUDO
      • Get a copy of the edited conversation recording
      • Begin writing it in Celtx
        • (EACH PERSON IS WRITING THEIR OWN SCRIPT IN CELTX)
      • Export the PDF file and upload DIRECTLY to your blog
      • Complete the blog post

Week 7 (Oct. 15-19)

  • Tues: Continue Day in My Life Project
    • Warm Up
    • ADVANCED STUDENTS
      • FILM: Unit 11 Working on Film Production Roles
      • ROCK: Unit 9: Continue The Session Unit
      • GAME: Unit 10: Work on Principles of Cameras and Lighting in Game Environments

      • Make sure that your paper storyboards are ready for Mr. Le Duc to scan (they are in the class box - left side of the classroom)
      • Edit your video
        • Import your your Creative Commons images and and your pie chart graphic (you can duplicate it inside the program the number of times you will be referring to it)
        • Import your edited narration audio .WAV file from Audacity
        • Be sure to have your the user name and image name from Flickr for the final credits part of the video (Place these names at the end of the presentation with title text)

      • Storyboard and Pictures - Day 2
        • WHAT: Create a storyboarding and gather pictures
        • WHY: Good story needs structure and visuals
        • HOW: Fold paper 4 times and search.creativecommons.org (cite your sources)

        • You will be placing the images into iMovie along woth your pie chart

          • Form production teams with an artist, engineer, and producer (3 people max)

Week 3 (Sept.17-21)

      • WHY: Need (copyright free images) to make a lasting impact on audience and no time to do it
        • Share six minutes of Andrew Stanton; give them 2+2, not 4
      • HOW: Share Saving and Citing Creative Commons Images

      • Start Step 5 - Gathering and Citing Creative Commons Images
        • You DO NOT need to make the citation slide right now
        • DO NOT start making the presentation. We will do this together
        • Have everyone log on to their Flickr account and check to make sure they work
    • YOUDO
      1. Watch the video tutorial: Searching The Creative Commons
      2. Download at least 16 images through Search.CreativeCommons.org for your presentation
      3. Name each image with the four pieces of information needed for the citation. This will help you remember these four pieces of information later when you are creating your Work Cited slide.
        1. date
        2. site
        3. author
        4. file name
      4. REMINDER: You need to cite any material that is not yours, whether it is in the Creative Commons or copy written. The difference between the two is that you can NEVER use copy written material with FIRST getting permission FROM the creator.  So, always use Creative Commons images because the creators HAVE given you permission to use their material when they published it, AS LONG AS YOU CITE THEM.

      • Complete Step 3 - Brainwriting and Brainstorming Ideas
      • Complete Step 4 - Creating the Storyboard

        • Clearly label what kind of picture is needed for each slide that has a picture (need at least 6 pictures)
